They believe in the power of kindness and the arts to transform lives, as their own journey through intersectional marginalization continues to shape their purpose. Anu enjoys working with our awesome queer community, artists, BIPOC, AAPI, immigrants, physically and cognitively disabled—especially multiple marginalized people, particularly with invisible disabilities such as mental illness and other neurodivergences who often fall into low-income demographics. Anu has helped individuals cope with trauma through art making, including visual art, storytelling, mixed and multimedia, cartooning and poetry. Anu in their own words “My own journey has taught me that hope is the key that can always be found and that those of us with hardships and disabilities, who are decentered and have stigmatized mental illnesses can survive stronger as we have become practiced innovators, creative-thinkers, problem-solvers, and most importantly, compassionate humans as these skills are built through navigating our complex voyages of existing in a world that has not been designed for us and has yet to even fully accept us.
