Our Therapy Services
Individual Therapy
Personalized one on one counseling focused on supporting emotional well being, self understanding, and meaningful personal growth.
Relationship Therapy
A supportive space for partners to strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and build healthier, more connected relationships.
Family Therapy
Sessions provide a supportive environment where family members can better understand one another, address conflict, and develop healthier patterns of interaction.
Play Therapy
Play therapy helps children express emotions, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills through play, art, games, and other age-appropriate activities. Because children often communicate through play rather than words, this approach provides a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth.
Expressive Arts Therapy
Expressive Arts Therapy uses creative activities such as art, music, writing, movement, and other forms of self-expression to support emotional healing and personal growth. This approach can help individuals explore thoughts and feelings, reduce stress, improve self-awareness, and process difficult experiences in a supportive environment.
Group Therapy
Therapist guided sessions that provide connection, shared understanding, and skill building within a supportive group environment.

Adults
Life comes with an array of transitions, pressures, and unexpected challenges, and
sometimes the coping strategies that used to work for you simply aren’t enough
anymore. At Avenues, our therapists provide a compassionate, collaborative space
where you can step away from the noise of daily life and focus entirely on your well-
being. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, past trauma, or major life shifts,
Avenues therapists tailor their approach to your unique identity and goals. Blending
deep somatic awareness, evidence-based practices, and identity-affirming care, we
help you unpack old patterns, heal underlying wounds, and cultivate the tools you need
to live a more authentic, fulfilling, and grounded life.
Adolescents
The teenage years are a time of incredible growth, but navigating identity, school
pressures, social media, and shifting relationships can also feel deeply overwhelming.
At Avenues, our therapists provide a dedicated, confidential space where teens can
drop their guard and talk openly without fear of judgment. Recognizing that traditional
talk therapy doesn't work for every teenager, Avenues therapists meet adolescents
exactly where they are—blending evidence-based clinical support with creative,
expressive, and collaborative tools. Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety,
depression, academic stress, or self-esteem, we are here to help them build resilience,
discover their authentic selves, and develop healthy coping skills to navigate the
complexities of growing up.
Children
Play Therapy
For children, play isn't just fun—it is their natural language. When young people
experience big emotions, trauma, or stress, they often don’t have the words to explain
what they are going through. Through Play Therapy, Avenues therapists provide a
specialized, safe environment where toys, art, and games become the words your child
uses to express their inner world. Instead of forcing a child to sit and talk, our therapists
meet them exactly where they are developmentally, helping them naturally process
difficult experiences, develop healthy coping skills, and improve behavioral and
emotional regulation. It is a compassionate, evidence-based modality that empowers
children to heal, grow, and flourish through the language they know best.
-
You deserve a therapeutic space where your identity is not just understood, but deeply
celebrated. At Avenues, our therapists provide compassionate, specialized mental
health care tailored to the unique experiences of the LGBTQIA+ and Transgender and
Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) communities. We recognize that navigating systemic
oppression, family dynamics, minority stress, and gender journeys requires more than
just general empathy—it requires culturally responsive expertise.
Avenues therapists offer a safe, deeply validating environment where you can explore
your authentic self at your own pace. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety,
depression, trauma, relationship dynamics, or navigating your gender exploration, we
are here to walk alongside you. We proudly provide transgender-affirming care,
including the collaborative writing of letters of support for gender-affirming procedures,
using an informed-consent model that minimizes gatekeeping. Standing firmly rooted in
an intersectional, social justice-minded framework, we ensure you receive care that
honors every beautiful layer of who you are.
-
Think of your brain like a filing system: sometimes, a traumatic event or painful memory
gets stuck on the desk instead of being filed away properly, leaving you trapped in a
loop of constant stress and anxiety. Through EMDR, our therapists use gentle bilateral
stimulation—such as guided eye movements, taps, or tones—to help your brain naturally resume its healing process and finally “file” those memories away correctly.
You won’t have to spend years endlessly rehashing the past; instead, our team provides
a safe, structured environment to help you find deep, lasting relief from trauma, PTSD,
anxiety, and past hurts—often much faster than traditional talk therapy alone.
-
Have you ever felt like a part of you wants to make a change, but another part is completely terrified? Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that views the mind as a system of different "parts"—such as an inner critic, a perfectionist, or an anxious voice—each trying to protect you from deeper pain. Instead of fighting these difficult behaviors, our therapists guide you to access your "Self," your innate core of calm, clarity, and compassion. From this grounded space, we help you understand your protective patterns, safely heal past wounds, and resolve inner conflict. IFS is a powerful modality for treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, and our team is here to provide the safe, guided environment you need to build a deeply loving, harmonious relationship with yourself.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
The intersection of mindfulness, deep subconscious exploration, and psychedelic treatment is both innovative and transformative. Our practitioners utilize these states to help you access deeper parts of the subconscious and process "shadow material," while employing grounding techniques to foster profound somatic awareness and emotional integration.
Since partnering with Journey Clinical in 2024, Avenues Mental Health Counseling has been dedicated to making Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy accessible, approachable, and affordable. By blending this medicine with trauma-informed approaches—specifically Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) modalities—our therapists guide you safely through both the dosing and integration phases. Clients undergoing KAP at Avenues frequently report feeling closer to their authentic selves, more attuned to their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, and experiencing an increased sense of secure attachment and inner peace.
-
It takes immense courage to open up about intimacy, identity, and the parts of ourselves we often keep hidden—which is why our therapists work alongside you and your partner to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can gently explore these vulnerabilities together We offer a collaborative, sex-positive space where your unique relationship structures and identities are not just respected but celebrated. We are here to help you navigate the messy, beautiful transitions of life with a steady hand and an open mind. If you’re looking for a therapist who values your lived experience and centers your voice, our therapists provide the empathetic partnership you need to grow on your own terms.
-
At Avenues, we view your family as a unique, interconnected ecosystem. Our approach focuses on the family as a whole, examining how outer circumstances, developmental stages, and historical legacies shape your day-to-day dynamics. Exploring your family system can heal the wounds causing immediate distress, while opening up an expansive, creative, and fulfilling path toward maximizing your family's potential.
-
Sometimes, the words we need just don’t seem to exist. Through Expressive Arts Therapy, our therapists provide a creative, non-verbal space to help you express complex thoughts, process difficult emotions, and heal from trauma when traditional talk therapy feels like it isn't enough.
You don’t need to consider yourself "artistic" or have any artistic background to benefit—this isn't about creating a masterpiece or being judged on your skill. Instead, our team guides you in using simple creative materials as a gentle tool for self-discovery, stress relief, and deep mind-body integration. It is a powerful, restorative modality for clients of all ages looking to explore their inner world from a fresh perspective.
-
The intersection of Art Therapy and psychedelic treatment is innovative and multifaceted. Practitioners use imagination and free association to access the subconscious and process shadow material, while mindfulness and grounding techniques foster somatic awareness and integration. Creative methods include guided visualization, 2D and 3D artmaking, music, dance, drama, and play.
Since partnering with Journey Clinical in 2024, I have witnessed the transformative potential of Ketamine-Assisted Creative Arts Therapy with Avenues Mental Health Counseling, we've made this intervention accessible, approachable, and affordable. Using trauma-informed approaches with Internal Family Systems and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modalities, clients report feeling closer to their authentic selves, more attuned to their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, and experiencing increased secure attachment. -
We believe healing happens in both the mind and the body. Through Dance/Movement and Somatic Therapy, our therapists use gentle, psychotherapeutic movement and body-awareness practices to help you process emotions, release trauma, and manage stress from the inside out. You don’t need to be a dancer, and no previous experience is required—this isn't about skill, performance, or flexibility. Instead, our team guides individuals of all ages to explore somatic wisdom and the deep connection between mind and body, offering a compassionate, grounded pathway to heal from anxiety, depression, and trauma.
-
Healing doesn’t have to happen in isolation. While individual therapy offers deep personal focus, group therapy provides something equally powerful: the realization that you are not alone in your struggles. At Avenues, our therapists facilitate safe, structured, and highly collaborative group spaces where individuals facing similar challenges can connect, share, and grow together. Guided by Avenues therapists, group sessions offer a unique opportunity to practice mindful communication, gain diverse perspectives, and build secure interpersonal bonds in real time. Whether focused on anxiety, grief, relationship dynamics, or specific life transitions, our groups provide a compassionate community where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported on your path to wellness.
