Josephine Dai
Josephine Dai (she/her) is a mental health counselor. Josephine’s approach to therapy is collaborative and process-oriented. Multiple modalities are integrated into her work, including CBT, DBT, Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy, with multicultural awareness. She values careful listening, emotional nuance, and helping clients reconnect with their inner clarity and sense of agency. Therapy with Josephine is not about fixing who you are; it’s about creating space for you to exist more fully and honestly, without pressure or judgment. The populations she works with are individuals aged between 13 to 70. She is experienced in treating anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, chronic stress, and difficulties with self-worth. Many clients also come to therapy to explore complex family dynamics, relationship patterns, boundary challenges, and surviving a high-conflict environment. I support individuals navigating life transitions, identity questions, and burnout. Josephine values depth, authenticity, and emotional safety. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing happens not through quick fixes, but through being truly seen, understood, and respected. She aims to offer a safe, calm, thoughtful space where clients don’t have to perform, explain themselves repeatedly, or minimize their experiences. Josephine often works with individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of surface-level support. Many of her clients are insightful, self-aware, and capable, yet feel unseen in their relationships or burdened by long-standing patterns shaped by family dynamics, anxiety, or chronic self-doubt. In your work together, you will move at a pace that honors your nervous system, your boundaries, and your readiness. Josephine is trilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese (Yue) and English.
